EDIT: Wow, this has been amazing! However, it's been so amazing, that I'm going to have to put an end date on it. I'll be taking new additions through 11:59PM Pacific Time on September 13th. Why the 13th? Because nominations for Festivids begin on September 14th over at Festivids.net! Be sure to watch some of the amazing sources recommended in this post and factor them into your offers and requests!

Festivids is approaching! Do you have that fandom that you've always wanted to see a vid from, but you're afraid you're the only person who's ever seen it? Now's the time to get the word out that this awesome thing exists, so others can be drawn into your madness and request or offer that fandom. My initial post on this is here. Leave a comment there or here with more fandoms for this list. Or make your own post and send me a link!
The masterlist is below. I'm only crediting the person who actually put it up if they had some comment on it. Links are for the IMDb for films and television (except where I can't find a good IMDb page, like for Capital Scandal). Other media will have links dependent on the source itself.
Movies
After Hours (1985) Martin Scorsese (yup) directs a madcap everything-that-can-go-wrong-does comedy. It's awesome. -- jetpack_monkey
Auntie Mame (1958) The movie starring Rosalind Russell, not the musical with Lucille Ball. It's the story of an orphaned upper class little boy who goes to live with his free-spirited aunt in Manhattan, who loves throwing parties and living life to the fullest. The costuming is over-the-top, and Rosalind Russell is the rightful center of all the chaos. -- grammarwoman
The Beaver Trilogy (2000) It's about fannishness? I think? And it's like a cinematic version of the telephone game? And the fact that the make-up artist (possibly the only one in town?) works at the morgue will never not be hilarious. High school talent show! Oliva Newton John! Sean Penn! Crispin Glover impersonating Sean Penn! 70s/80s styles! -- ghost_lingering
Big Man Japan (2007) A really great Japanese mockumentary about a Japanese superhero! It is bittersweet, hilarious, and angsty by turns. A must see if you are into superhero mythos type stuff. The last ten to fifteen minutes are inexplicable while also concisely criticizing America and American/Japanese relations. And ... other stuff. -- ghost_lingering
The Black Cat (1934) Boris Karloff and Bela Lugosi in a battle of wits fueled by vengeance. -- jetpack_monkey
Black Snake Moan (2006) A bluesman (Samuel L. Jackson) chains a troubled sex addict (Christina Ricci) to his radiator in order to save her from herself. It's as completely ridiculous as it sounds, but it's also kind of lovely. -- sweetestdrain
Black Sunday (1960) Barbara Steele in a gorgeous Mario Bava movie -- jetpack_monkey
Charade (1963) Cary Grant & Audrey Hepburn--and a surprising cast--FTW! -- diannelamerc
La cité des enfants perdus (English: The City of Lost Children) (1995) French film from the director of Amélie and Delicatessen. With bonus!Ron Perlman! It's beautiful and creepy and has a lovely take on the 'family you make'. There's a large emphasis on dreams, so the camerawork is amazing. Plus it's Jean-Pierre Jeunet so not only are the characters interesting from a writing standpoint, but also from a visual one! Trailer. -- mizz_destiny
Curse of the Golden Flower (2006) China (Tang Dynasty) [with] assassins and politics and stuff. Also GORGEOUS. Check out a trailer, if you love those visuals, check this out. Also kinda depressing. :-/ -- laura47
Disney Princess films (editor's note: pretty sure this would need to be broken down to individual films)
Eyes without a Face (1960) French horror film that is both clinical and balletic at once. --jetpack_monkey
The Good, the Bad and the Ugly (1966)
Hero (Ying Xiong) (2002) It's set in ancient China about some assassins and stuff. Okauy, so there is *obviously* some political... subtext? text? going on pretty strongly here, that I don't necessarily agree with, BUT OH IT WAS SO PRETTY . The colors. It's made for vidding, for a certain type of vidder who loves colors. -- laura47
The Howling (1981) Werewolves. Fuck yeah. -- jetpack_monkey
I Shot Andy Warhol (1996) [It's] about Valerie Solanas, author of the SCUM Manifesto. -- frayadjacent
Kwaidan (1964) Creepy and gorgeous! Japanese ghost stories with a surrealistic slant. -- sweetestdrain
Lisa and the Devil (1973) Another Bava film. Trippy as all hell (and just as problematic, admittedly). Gorgeous and macabre. -- jetpack_monkey
Merry Christmas Mr. Lawrence (1983)
Modern Times (1936) Charlie Chaplin FTW. -- jetpack_monkey
Proof (1991) I keep hoping someone else will recognize the brilliance that is Proof. -- giandujakiss
The Rounders (1965) The original Brokeback Mountain, sort of. Okay, not really, but it's funny and endearing it'd totally make a great fun vid. Honest. -- legoline
Rubber (2010) Weird, weird flick for a crazy vid. -- valoise
Shaun of the Dead (2004) IDK what you call this genre -- B-horror parodies? I call it FUN and I think something needs to be done about it preferably to Air Supply -- colls
Slither (2006) See above, re: Shaun of the Dead -- colls
Smokey & the Bandit (1977) It's a classic. It has Sally Field. Highway chases. Cool cars. Cooler trucks. And Fred! -- legoline
Starship Troopers (1997) It's 90210 in space only with gore and action. Also features Neil Patrick Harris in a trench coat. It's pretty deep in terms of social criticism too, it has so many layers about the future of the human empire and the glorification of war. It's also insanely beautiful to use as a vidding source. -- cirque
Super 8 (2011) If you ever liked The Goonies or E.T., this is the film for you. It brings out my inner ten-year old; it's nostalgic and funny and entertaining and occasionally heartbreaking and also stars Kyle Chandler looking mighty fine. -- legoline
Superman I-IV (1978-1987) Because Christopher Reeve was born to play Kal-El. -- legoline
Twilight Samurai (2002) A beautiful story about a man from the Samurai class, living during the meiji Restoration, who basically just wants to be a good father and have a simple life, but of course it gets complicated. I've requested it before, but I don't know if anyone's ever offered it. I watched it for a class, and sobbed like a baby. I don't think anyone else did, I just was really moved! -- laura47
Wings of Desire (1987) Angels watch over Berlin, and one of them falls in love with a trapeze artist. Full of long, still shots and really evocative cinematography. -- sweetestdrain
Television
Big Wolf On Campus (1999) It is basically Teen Wolf, except campier, even more homoerotic (I KNOW), and it aired on Fox Family instead of MTV. And there are a few episodes starring Corey Haim and Corey Feldman. -- elipie
Capital Scandal (2007) It's a wacky cheerful romcom with floral pink fedoras, except it's about undercover resistance fighters in 1930s Korea, so wait it's actually terrifying I lied. -- shati
CHAOS (2011) This series is hilarious, brilliant acting, good-looking men in suits, amazing comedic timing, hurt-comfort, team bonding... CBS played it *out of order* and then axed it, so please watch it in the fan-order which is much closer to the real order of the episodes. And enjoy! :) -- starrylizard
Cleopatra 2525 [This is] a ...stunning show. It has $10 special effects, $5 writing, all the grrl power you could wish for (the stars are Gina Torres and two other women), an embarrassing number of pop-culture references from the year 2000, men and women in incongruous BDSM gear (this is by the same people who made Xena and Hercules), and goggles, goggles everywhere, because this takes place in the future, when machines rule the earth... -- thirdblindmouse
Cupid (1998) Is he really a God or just a nut job--and does it actually matter? :) -- diannelamerc
The Devil's Whore (2008) British mini-series on the English Civil War, starring Andrea Riseborough, Michael Fassbender, John Simm and Dominic West. Some beautiful, dramatic visuals. -- alba17
Dune (2000) / Children of Dune (2003)
Game On (1995) Particularly for the antics that agoraphobic Matt gets up to in an attempt to amuse himself because he can't leave the house. The episode where he gets his penis stuck in the vacuum cleaner pipe never ceases to be hilarious, from a female perspective. -- littleheaven
Hong Gil Dong (2008) A kdrama about a Robin Hood-esque figure. There are thieves! There is an angsty prince with angsty prince backstory! It is awesome! -- ghost_lingering
Invasion (2005) I'm probably the only one who watched it (which is probably why it was canceled), but the TV show Invasion was shaping up to be kind of awesome, even though it only had one season. -- sabaceanbabe
Kojak (2005) Ving Rhames doing an updated take on a classic -- diannelamerc
Kolchak: The Night Stalker (1974) X-Files before there were X-Files. -- jetpack_monkey
Leaphorn and Chee (2002 -- film 1, 2, 3) Wes Studi is awesome, and Hillerman's endless passages about landscape and weather translated into gorgeous scenery. (And at ~6 hours, it's a manageable amount of footage while still having enough to be easily viddable.) -- franzeska
My Little Pony (1986) (editor's note: I assume that it was a request for the 1980s series, since there's no way Friendship is Magic qualifies as rare anymore)
The No. 1 Ladies' Detective Agency (2008)
The Painter of the Wind (2004) Painters! Girls socialized from a young age to think of themselves as boys (well, ok, just one girl). Femslash that feels like het! Het that feels like slash! -- ghost_lingering
Planet Earth (2006 BBC documentary series)
Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon (2003)
Pushing Daisies (2007) An (essentially) orphaned little boy with the power to bring the dead temporarily back to life grows up to a be a pie-maker and teams with a private detective to solve murder cases. It's a comedy! The show was presented in hyper-saturated color, and extravagant effects and sets, with an amazing cast of characters. I still miss it. -- grammarwoman
Roughnecks: The Starship Trooper Chronicles (1999)
She-Ra: Princess of Power (1985)
Space: Above and Beyond (1995)
Two Guys, A Girl and a Pizza Place (1998) One of my favourite ever sit-coms. Ryan Reynolds! Nathan Fillion! And the first two seasons have FINALLY come out on DVD, albeit only in region 2 format. -- littleheaven
Vengeance Unlimited (1998) Michael Madsen being one scary BAMF on the side of good = concentrated awesomeness! (re: the village-destroying murderers and rapists] "On the flight all of us took a very democratic vote and we decided to return Ponce and Rumano to El Salvador. Or maybe it was Nicaragua. Hard to tell from ten thousand feet." -- diannelamerc
Other
Mark Reads / Mark Watches His flail should be vidded. -- fizzyblogic
Resident Evil (video games) For its heartbreaking storylines and flawless female characters. -- cirque
