My flight back to Phoenix is delayed an hour and I had to toss my very favorite pocket knife because I idiotically still had it on my person when I reached the security checkpoint.

I'm rather annoyed with myself, actually. There's no way to get that same knife again. It came from my uncle's pizzeria as part of their grand opening and that was seven years ago.

...oh my sweet something-or-other-deity-type.

I hate moving. I don't think hate is strong enough. Is there something stronger than hate? Loathing? No, still not strong enough.

Whatever it is, I that moving.

Much love to [livejournal.com profile] desertwillow and especially her husband for helping us out for a few hours last night.

No love to my aching muscles and joints for deciding to puss out on me.

Even less love to my glasses, which have been missing since Friday night.

Through various sales and whatnot, I have managed to procure 11 of the 12 Farscape Starburst editions in the last three or four months. However, my luck is such that the one I do not have is Season 1, Collection 1. This is particularly irritating, because that set is out-of-print and goes for 50-100 dollars used on half.com and ebay.com (anybody selling it for less is lying -- believe me, I have enough "temporarily out of stock" emails from online retailers to know). One Half.com retailer actually shipped it, but the package never arrived (or was stolen off my mom's front porch). I can't even get the episodes off of Netflix.

*mutters obscenities* Is it too much to ask to get one last set?

So. I registered as press for Comic-Con this year, because it's actually important this year to do so (not that I wouldn't've anyway, but that's neither here nor there). There's some sort of serious delay getting press confirmations out, so I email them and they confirm that Classic-Horror has three registered as press, which is good, because we do, in fact, have three.

Then the exhibitors and panel people start emailing. Except they don't email me. They email [livejournal.com profile] midnightfae and [livejournal.com profile] airawyn. For a while, I think that they've just singled out the freelancer ([livejournal.com profile] airawyn) and the alphabetically superior editor ([livejournal.com profile] midnightfae). Except I'm still nervous, so I email them and ask about me specifically. They assure me that I am registered.

They email out the confirmations. Unlike normal registration, you *cannot* get into Con as press without your barcoded confirmation. Guess what? Everybody gets one but me. I even checked the email logs. Nothing arrived for me, not even to the wrong email address.

So I'm thinking that somehow they have the wrong email address for me. I've shot them an email about this, but there's a handy note on the confirmations that says that so close to the Con, they can no longer make alterations to our info or make any corrections. P.S. [livejournal.com profile] quantum_gazebo, we thought we'd take the time to delay the press confirmations to the very last minute to screw you over specifically. Take it, monkey boy.

*headdesk* I'll see what the press folks have to say in response to my email, but I'm a little panicked right now.

*sniffle* Stuck at work, starving, and sneezing every minute.

Misery. Absolute misery. If only people would amuse me by suggesting captions for icons, then I might be distracted from my pain.

Or, you know, knock me out cold. That's also distracting.

CD Gnomes!

On Sunday, someone with a great deal of consideration for their fellow man smashed the passenger side window of [livejournal.com profile] midnightfae's car in an attempt to get the stereo. Her stereo, being an ornery piece of antiquated equipment, did not budge more than an inch or two. Despite the cost of replacing the window, this failure of basic mission parameters amused both [livejournal.com profile] midnightfae and I.

Until today.

Today we realized that the thief did manage to swipe not only [livejournal.com profile] midnightfae's CDs, but also my own (I had put my CD binder in her car for additional music choices).

It's just stuff, but it's a bit disconcerting. I have most of my music backed up just in case, but my David Sedaris CD and all of my Monty Python albums were not ripped for posterity. Plus, one of my Stuart Davis albums was signed and I'll never see him perform live again since he never travels this way.

I feel worse for [livejournal.com profile] midnightfae, however, as she didn't have any backups made, and she had a nearly complete set of Tori Amos CDs.

We'll be fine. I'm going to reburn my CDs and make my girl some wicked awesome mixes to try to cope for the loss of tunes. I'll have to rebuy the Python and Sedaris, but hey... they're worth the dough.

Which is made exceedingly easy because it's set to private now. I had a moment of emo. It had to be killed.
